Saturday 21 December 2019 at 21 at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti, the traditional Christmas concert by the Novi Toni Comites Orchestra conducted by violinist Stefano Mhanna. The orchestra will be supported by the Coro dei Laudesi Umbri conducted by Padre Matteo Ferraldeschi.
Protagonist of the concert will be Stefano Mhanna, extraordinary talent who graduated in solo violin at age 11 by the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, and in organ, viola, piano and composition at age 16.
Winner of many contests in Italy and abroad, Mhanna holds a vast repertoire and has founded his Novi Toni Orchestra in 2010.
The programme includes Antonio Vivaldi (‘L’Estate’ from “Le Quattro Stagioni”), Pablo de Sarasate (“Zingaresca”), Fritz Kreisler (“Preludio e allegro sullo stile di Pugnani”), Wolfgang A. Mozart (“Ave Verum”), Antonio Bazzini (“La Ridda dei Folletti”), Samuel Barber (“Adagio” op.11), Petr Ilic Tchaikovskj (“Melodia op.42”). The Novi Toni Comites Orchestra will be supported by the Coro dei Laudesi Umbri, established in 1975 by Maestro Padre Antonio Giannoni. Its repertoire, initially featuring Gregorian chants, sacred poliphony and Middle Ages laude, went on to include Baroque and Romantic pieces, folk songs and spirituals. The choir is conducted by Padre Matteo Ferraldeschi, and features Maestro Répétiteur Angelo Silvio Rosati, will sing “Bianco Natale” by Irving Berlin, “Adeste Fideles” by J. F. Wade, “Christmas Lullaby” by John Rutter, “Hark the Erald Angels Sing” by F. Mendelsshon Bartoldy, and more.
