The Spoleto Committee of the Italian Red Cross, with the support of the City of Spoleto, has organized the 6th edition of the Befana Festival for Monday 6 January.
The highlight of the festival, the spectacular descent of the Befana from the bell tower of San Gregorio, that had not happened in Spoleto for ten years.
The event is scheduled from 2.00 pm and includes animations, drawings, tricks and colored balloons. The arrival of the Befana is expected around 4.30 pm and she will distribute sweets and candies to the children.
The event aims to keep the emotion of the arrival of the Befana alive in children and to spread even more the purpose of the activities of the Red Cross and in particular of the Committee of Spoleto throughout the citizens, who are not only health-related but also include the involvement and promotion of well-being as well as of aggregation of the community.
The Spoleto Committee of the Italian Red Cross will also install a climbing wall in Piazza Vittoria, near the Garibaldi bridge, thanks to the staff of the Red Cross and the Fire Brigade. The attraction will be open on Saturday 4 from 14 to 17 while Sunday 5 and Monday 6, the day of the Befana, from 10 to 13 and from 14 to 17.
