Five appointments for the third edition of “Incontriamoci alla Rocca” curated by director Paola Mercurelli Salari and scheduled at the Rocca Albornoz – National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto from 5 March to 22 May, 2020.
The series of meetings will focus on history and art history themes and mostly inspirred from this year’s centennials: Raffaello, Fellini, Modigliani.
Two meetings will offer a reconstruction of Raphael’s human and artistic path: Thursday 5 March, Giovanna Sapori will discuss “Raphael, Rome and Umbria”, while Thursday 2 April Bruno Toscano will detail “ Raphael’s last self-portrait”.
Thursday 23 April Maria Luisa Meneghetti will show the theme “Courts and courtesies: mundane frescoes in Umbria between late 1300s and early 1400s” referring to the extraordinary Painted Room at the Rocca Albornoziana.
Thursday 7 May Antonella Manni will talk of “Federico Fellini. A cinema master in Spoleto”, highlighting little-known aspects of the great director’s Spoleto attendance.
Marco Tonelli will close the series on Friday 22 May presenting “Plots, crimes and mysteries under the shadow of the most beloved and paid Italian painter ever. The Modigliani Affaire” by Dania Mondini and Claudio Loiodice.
The meetings will be free of charge, will start at 16.30 at the Sala Eugenio IV by the Rocca Albornoz in Spoleto.
