Spazio Collicola | Sunday 12 July at 18.45
Councillor for Culture Ada Urbani: “it’s our tribute to the genius of Mozart on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of his stay in Spoleto”.
The Spazio Collicola events programme is enriched with a new appointment. After the success of the last two events on Sunday 5th and Monday 6th July (the concert “Omaggio all’Umbria” and the presentation of the book “Assedio all’occidente” by the director of La Repubblica Maurizio Molinari), Sunday 12th July will be the turn of ‘MozartiAMO. Mozart, genius and unruliness‘.
The concert will see the return to Spoleto of Stefano de Majo, author and performer of the tribute to the great Austrian composer and musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, after the event of last September in Monteluco “Francis in the Sacred Wood” dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi. De Majo will be accompanied on the piano by Maestro Emanuele Stracchi.
“We wanted to include this appointment in the planning of events – explained Councillor for Culture Ada Urbani – for the symbolic value of the date. Some studies show that in 1770 Mozart and his family spent two days in Spoleto, arriving in the city on July 12, 250 years ago, on the occasion of his first Italian trip, from Civita Castellana to Bologna. We therefore wanted to plan the show on the occasion of this anniversary to tribute his undisputed genius“.
The appointment is scheduled for Sunday, July 12 at 18.45 (free admission subject to availability).
