The exhibition was presented at the Town Hall; the opening to the public is presently suspended due to ordenance #68 by Regione Umbria
This morning, the contemporary art exhibition “Artists for Alina” has been presented at the Town Hall, Sala dello Spagna.
The exhibition was promoted and organized by artist Sanda Sudor, to commemorate the loss of her only daughter of 26 years Alina Marchetta, will not be open to the public for the moment, in light of the provisions included in Ordinance #68 by Regione Umbria “Further measures for the prevention and management of the COVID19 epidemiological emergency”. The City of Spoleto and the organizers will communicate as soon as possible the new opening dates.
“I won’t talk about the tragedy, I want to eliminate two words from my vocabulary: death and fear – said Sanda Sudor – I want to talk about the artists and the project we have carried out, a project started also for all those parents who struggle after the loss of their sons and daughters. Through Alina I met extraordinary people and artists who collaborated with me in the realization of this first edition of the exhibition.”
The presence of artist David Pompili pepped up the presentation: ”Through Sanda’s strength we have created synergies and exchanged ideas and thoughts that have been the basis for this Project. We are already working on the second edition, which will focus on justice. I think we will be ready by December. The locations will certainly be Forlì and Spoleto. We are defining the possibility to be present also in other cities depending on the availability we receive from the cities.”
The institutional greeting was provided by councillor Francesco Flavoni, who attended along with President of the City Council Sandro Cretoni and city council member Giampaolo Fagotto Fiorentini. “We have warmly welcomed this exhibition, because net of the artistic value, it carries the reasons that started this project and the message that goes with it”.
40 artists are featured, selected in all fields of visual art (painting, sculpture, photography, design, graphic design/illustration, video), including the first three winning artists awarded on October 3 last in Forlì on the occasion of the first annual edition of the competition prize announced for the year 2020:
