40 E STO
with Andrea Delogu
From an idea by Andrea Delogu and Rossella Rizzi
Written by Alberto Caviglia, Andrea Delogu, Rossella Rizzi and Giovanna Salvatori
Directed by Enrico Zaccheo
“40 e sto” is a crazy show about women entering their 40s: the turning point, the crisis and the rebirth, the freedom and the battles against clichés.
Surprised by the approach and expectations of men, by the judgment of a society that wants you to be a mother at all costs, and by the seductive desire to feel accepted, Andrea will realize that when she turns 40 a different game is played. Where the most important thing of all is up for grabs: the freedom to be yourself.
Transversal, biting, quirky. Andrea Delogu doesn’t mince words. And there is something for everyone, young and old, men and women, mothers and fathers, angry feminists, staunch polyamorists, animal activists in crisis, missed hippies and part-time monotheists.

Five shows in the theatre review dedicated to children, scheduled from 3 December to 12 March
Councillor Chiodetti: ”We strongly wanted to start over again what started in 2009 thanks to Vincenzo Cerami’s very happy and far-sighted intuition”
The family theatre review ‘La Domenica dei Sogni‘, conceived by Vincenzo Cerami in 2009 to promote the love of theatre among the younger generations, is back.
From 3 December to 12 March there will be five shows that will accompany children and their families throughout the winter period, a journey together with Italy’s best companies in the splendid setting of the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti on Sundays at 4.30 pm.

“The magic of Christmas, the adventure of a journey, the wonder of diversity and the beauty of acceptance, passing through the everlasting tale of Pinocchio to Hannibal’s elephants. We strongly wanted this restart after the stop of the health emergency, because “La Domenica dei Sogni” is an opportunity to introduce young and very young people to the language of theatre, sharing with their families the confrontation and dialogue on the themes told” – explained councillor Danilo Chiodetti – “This route, now in its thirteenth edition and born in 2009 thanks to a very happy and far-sighted intuition of Vincenzo Cerami, then councillor for culture in Spoleto, wants to contribute to providing the youngest with the necessary keys to understanding everyday life, relationships and sociality through storytelling, fantasy and culture”.

This year’s ‘Sunday of Dreams’ programme will kick off with two appointments in December. Sunday 3 December will begin with “Chi ha rapito Babbo Natale” (Who kidnapped Father Christmas), a show by the Compagnia Teatro Verde of Rome, winner of the 2003 City of Aosta Prize, by Andrea Calabretta, directed by Pino Strabioli, and will continue on 18 December with “Sapore di sale. The odyssey of a sardine” by the Compagnia La Baracca Testoni Ragazzi of Bologna, by Bruno Cappagli and Fabio Galanti.

There will be three appointments in 2023. The first is scheduled for 15 January, when the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti will host “Pinocchio“, a show by the Fondazione Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani di Torino (devised and directed by Luigina Dagostino, with Claudio Dughera, Daniel Lascar, Claudia Martore), while on 5 February it will be the turn of “La fiaba di Celeste” by the Compagnia La Piccionaia, directed by Gianni Franceschini.

The last show of the Family Theatre review “La Domenica dei Sogni” will be “Annibale memorie di un elefante” by the Compagnia Teatro Gioco Vita, scheduled for Sunday 12 March. The project, dramaturgy and direction is by Nicola Cavallari, with Giorgio Branca, Nicola Cavallari and Tommaso Pusant Pagliarini.

40 E STO
with Andrea Delogu

Three months of events for a total of 56 activities from Sunday 19 March to Wednesday 21 June 2023. This, in short, is the programme of Accade in primavera a Spoleto, the spring events programme organised by the Municipality of Spoleto in collaboration with local associations and institutions, dedicated to music, theatre, readings, art, initiatives for children and families and sport.
Among the events is Spoleto sul Palco, the first edition of the review that will be held at the Caio Melisso Theatre – Spazio Carla Fendi where four amateur companies from Spoleto will perform. With brilliant comedies and prose shows, both in Italian and in dialect, they will bear witness to the tradition of Spoleto in the context of the month dedicated to memory and city identity.
Once again this year there will be a study week organised by the CISAM Foundation, now in its LXX edition, which from 13 to 19 April will propose meetings on Time in the Early Middle Ages.
From 2 to 6 May, the International Dance Competition will be held at the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti. The IDC is the only Italian competition recognised at an international level and included in the International Federation of Ballet Competitions’ list of the most prestigious competitions.
Also returning is the Vaporetti Race, in its 57th edition, which will be run from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 June.
Spoleto in Fiore (Spoleto in Bloom),the market dedicated to flowers and gardening will colour Corso Mazzini, Piazza Pianciani and Piazza Fontana from 19 to 21 May.
On 31 March, Merenda nell’oliveta (A snack in the olive grove) is scheduled, an initiative organised by the member cities of the Association Città dell’Olio (Oil Cities). A day in the open air immersed in the olive-growing landscape, rediscovering the value of conviviality and being together while discovering evocative and lesser-known places. Participants will be involved in various activities such as educational workshops, tasting courses, storytelling with experts (olive growers, millers, agronomists, historians), poetry readings on the theme of oil, dance performances and plays.
There will also be numerous events for children, young people and families such as Spoleto in Gioco (21 May), an entire day dedicated to playful workshop activities for children and young people in Piazza Garibaldi, Corso Garibaldi, Cantiere Oberdan, Villa Redenta Park, Piazzetta dell’Erba and the San Nicolò Monumental Complex.
The opening of Palazzo Collicola exhibitions is scheduled on Saturday 1 April at 11.30 am. Protagonists will be Michael Venezia with Compilations, curated by Davide Silvioli and Nancy Genn with Beyond the Grid, curated by Francesca Valente. The exhibitions will be open until 31 May 2023.
