TELLING HISTORY
Lectures at Spoleto Archeological Museum and Roman Theatre
A series of history lectures are set to begin on Friday, February 10 – 4.30 pm, at the Archaeological Museum of Spoleto. The cycle of lectures, entitled TELLING HISTORY is sponsored by the State Museums of Umbria in collaboration with Astra Onlus Association and will take us on a journey through Umbrian archeology with two monthly meetings, until June.
The first meeting, entitled Men and Women of Piazza d’Armi: anthropological data, will present the results of recent studies conducted on the skeletons that were found in Piazza d’Armi’s necropolis – dating back to the VII century BC – famous for the discovery of a king’s tomb containing precious iron and bronze scepters.
The authors of the research, bioarchaeologist Stella Interlando and physical anthropologist Antonella Frigerio, will illustrate the characteristics and diseases of Spoleto oldest community.
