Exhibition on the episodes of TEX drawn by the Argentinian master – 30 July/30 October.
Master Enrique Breccia, Rosaria Mencarelli (director of the Museo della Rocca), architect Giorgio Flamini (exhibition curator) assisted by head editor of Sergio Bonelli Publishing Giorgio Masiero and by Spoleto Mayor Fabrizio Cardarelli have presented the exhibition “Tex and Spoleto, Enrique Breccia’s Frontiers” at the congress hall by the Rocca Albornoziana.
The exhibition wil start on 30 July, to last till 30 October, it will drag visitors to live an experience that is unique for the author of this year’s special issue of “Tex”. Original sketches will be on display, that will let us dive into his artistic history; the exhibition will also include workshops curated by the Jesi International Comics School.
“It’s going to be the Rocca’s summer feature” said director of the Museo nazionale del Ducato Rosaria Mencarelli “and it really matters to me to say that nowadays our museum pole is an actual cultural hub that aims at connecting quality experiences that yet hardly find their natural space inside a museum. We know that the comics are followed by so many and we are proud to see them here, represented by an absolute master: Enrique Breccia. It’s not only going to be an exhibition on Spoleto and Tex: further activities will include a comics workshop and a dig into the world of cinema facing the theme of the frontier, in four meetings with cinema’s cornerstones and critics, and we’ll launch a competition for the schools for the creation of a new comic strip“.

Photographic and video exhibition to illustrate pope Francis’ encyclical. Thirty unpublished pictures, flanking as many documental excerpts, proposed by three young artists, Laura Filippucci, Francesca Marinangeli and Eleonora Dottorini. The exhibition ends on Sunday 16 July.
“Everything is connected”: pope Francis submits a thoughtful consideration on the urgency of funneling human development on sustainable tracks, criticising technocracy and proposing to pledge to new living styles. Everything starts from St. Francis’ words “Praise Be To Ye, Lord”, excellent example of the care of what is helpless and of an undisputable sense for ecology.

Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura #204
Museo Nazionale del Ducato di Spoleto – Rocca Albornoz
TREASURES FROM VALNERINA
The Dressed Up Madonnas
Mezz’ora dopo la chiusura, the event curated by Sistema Museo in collaboration with the National Museum of the Duchy of Spoleto, awaits you on Friday 8 September 2017 at 19.30 at Rocca Albornoz with a guided visit entitled Treasures from Valnerina – The Dressed Up Madonnas.
The meeting is dedicated to the exhibition Tesori dalla Valnerina extended until November 5, 2017, which collects works from the territories affected by the 2016 earthquake and will be centred on the “statues to dress”, mannequins representing the Virgin or Saints, who were richly adorned with clothes and jewelry. This production, still little investigated, is a phenomenon of great interest both from an artistic point of view and for the knowledge of the history of costume, as well as because it symbolizes the devotion that popular tradition attributed to these simulacra.
The evening continues in one of the suggestive rooms of the fortress with a tasting of typical products and the new coffee line “Lavazza Firma”.
Thanks to Spoleto – Consorzio Albergatori di Spoleto and D. A. Distribuzione Automatica for the support and collaboration offered for the event.
Participation fee
Special admission rate – € 3,75
Guided visit – € 5,00
Tasting – € 3,00
