A great, three-dimensional crib inspired by the Nativity by Filippo Lippi frescoed on the apse at the cathedral will be created by the students of the Istituto Istruzione Superiore “Sansi Leonardi Volta”. The students of the Liceo Artistico, scenography section, have in fact worked on the continuation of the project with the construction of new elements of the composition and with a first pictorial intervention on the statues already created for the previous edition. The crib will be exhibited, from 8 December 2019 to 14 January 2020, in the apse of the former church of San Simone in Piazza Campello.
Exhibition’s opening times: everyday 11.00/13.00 – 15.00/19.00.
For the occasion, the San Matteo degli Infermi Hospital in Spoleto has also created a Crib that will be exhibited in the Pediatric Department of the same hospital. The work is curated by Rosanna Mele and Fabiola Bocchini.
The many activities that the Pro Loco “A. Busetti “of Spoleto this year proposes include a poetry reading curated by Sandro Costanzi and organized with the association “Fare Cultura”, and titled Benedetta TU Fra Le Donne at the Canasta Restaurant (Spoleto, Piazza della Libertà) Saturday 14 December 2019 at 17.00.

CABARET YIDDISH by MONI OVADIA
Festival of Two Worlds
Featuring the Stage Orchestra (Maurizio Dehò on violin, Paolo Rocca on clarinet, Albert Florian Mihai on accordeon, Luca Garlaschelli on double bass). Sound engineer Mauro Pagiaro. Production: Oylem Goylem Produzioni and Corvino Produzioni.
Yiddish language, music and culture, i.e. that unfathomable mix of German, Hebrew, Polish, Russian, Ukranian and Romanian, the universal condition of the Wandering Jew, his being stateless and rootless always and forever, are at the centre of “Yiddish Cabaret”, a chamber show that would later evolve into Oylem Goylem.
It could be said that the show has the classic form of cabaret, the way it is commonly understood. It alternates musical pieces and songs with stories, anecdotes, quotes, that the proven skill of the entertainer makes tastefully vivid. But the curiosity of the show lies in the fact that it is entirely dedicated to that part of Jewish culture of which Yiddish is the language and Klezmer the music.
A show that “smacks of steppes and backrooms, of streets and sinagogues”. All that Ovadia calls “the sound of exile, the music of dispersion”. In a word: diaspora.
Klezmer derives from the Hebraic words Kley Zemer, that refer to the musical instruments (violin, strings and clarinet) used by Eastern Jew traditional musicians since the XVIth century.
The show
I chose to forget “philology” and follow another chance, proclaiming that this music transcends its “scientifically determined” space-time coordinates, to talk about the distances of man, his wounded soul, his absolute feelings, his relationships with the natural and social world, his being “holy”, his ability to stand up in the face of the universe, weak yet sublime. The humble men who created all this before being able to become free men, have been robbed of their culture and transformed into stupid consumers but have nevertheless managed to leave us a posthumous chance, a music that is generated where the distance between heaven and earth has the consistency of a thin hymeneal membrane which, vibrating, perhaps only for the time of a song, suggests, that perhaps we have been put here for something else, even if it took the wrong road.

500 soundtracks, 70 million records sold worldwide, six nominations and two Oscars won, three Grammys, four Golden Globes and a Golden Lion make Ennio Morricone a music giant of all time.
Directed by Maestro Giacomo Loprieno, the ENSEMBLE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA approaches Morricone’s music after important national and international collaborations: Mario Biondi, Max Gazzè, Franco Battiato, Giovanni Allevi, Renato Zero, Francesco Renga, Pooh, Baustelle, PFM, Andrea Bocelli, Sting, Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams, Nile Rodgers, Sam Smith, Luis Bacalov. With over six hundred concerts in Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Holland, France, Austria, the United Kingdom and Belgium, the orchestra shows great versatility and attention to every type of music, with a repertoire that ranges from the most famous opera arias to the soundtracks of films of world renown (such as Frozen and Harry Potter).
Soloists and musicians of important Italian theatres and symphonic institutions will perform, such as Maestro Ferdinando Vietti at the cello and Maestro Stefano Benedetti at the trumpet. Among the special guests, the soprano Anna Delfino, well known to European opera lovers, will revive the emotion of Deborah’s Theme from Once Upon a Time in America and Cirque du Soleil violinist Attila Simon will perform the interrupted concert for violin from Canone Inverso.
