A double appointment at the Cinema Sala Pegasus, with the presentation of Alessio Carciofi’s book Digital Detox and the documentary Lo and Behold – Internet: the future is now by Werner Herzog.
An actual “Digital Day” is being organized by Cinema Sala Pegasus and Coworking Spoleto for 16 March. Two appointments to elaborate on the Internet, social media, communication and web marketing, organized with the support of the City of Spoleto.
But, how?
To start with, Spoletan digital strategist and CEO at Digital Detox Alessio Carciofi, will introduce his last book “Digital Detox. Focus and productivity for managers in the era of digital distraction”, published by Hoepli and on sale from 10 March.
The meeting, scheduled at 18.30 at the Cinema Sala Pegasus, will start with a simple, yet challenging question: “What can actually be considered a luxury nowadays?”, which will serve to analyze the values of attention, time and silence, and put them in relation with each other. “Today we’re still convinced that we pay everything through money, but the true currency is the time we can no longer enjoy – wrote recently Alessio Carciofi on the Huffington Post – the true revolution is the relation with time, that very time that flees us as flies away while on a smartphone. The time has come for us to start reflecting on our behaviour and find a new balance”. In his presentation, Alessio Carciofi, who has been dealing with marketing, digital communication, and working for some of the most famous Italian tourism brands since 2009, will face the theme of the Digital Felix, a new method that informs enterprises on the theme of in-company well being.
The second appointment is at 21.00, also at the Cinema Sala Pegasus, and will focus on the projection of the documentary “Lo and Behold – Internet: the future is now”. The vision of German director Werner Herzog’s last work will be introduced by Alessio Carciofi, and will be another occasion to try and understand the Internet’s development, its most charming and contradictory aspects, its future and the limits imposed by being constantly online.

One of the most influential Italian intellectuals, Goffredo Fofi, a film, literary and theater critic, will be a guest at Sala Pegasus, Monday 9 October at 6 p. m., for a conversation on cinema, entitled Carta Bianca a Goffredo Fofi.
Entrance is free, seats are limited.
Reservation: 339 4012680 or cinemasalapegasus@gmail.com
A essayist, theater, literary and film critic, Goffredo Fofi, born in Gubbio in 1937, is one of the sharpest critical consciences of our present time, one of the most active and combative personalities of Italian culture.
Over time he has become an authoritative voice in the national cultural panorama and his critical activity has focused above all on the relationship between social reality and its artistic representation. He has contributed to the birth of important magazines such as the Quaderni Piacentini, La Terra vista dalla Luna, Ombre rosse, Linea d’ombra, Lo straniero. He currently directs Gli Asini magazine; he is an editorial consultant and collaborates with Panorama and Internazionale magazines.
Friday 20 October 2017 at 17 by Palazzo Leti Sansi (Via Arco di Druso), Dutch journalist Maarten van Aalderen will present his books Il bello dell’Italia and Talenti d’Italia (Albeggi ed.).
While Italy is facing a dire crisis, Il Bello dell’Italia (Italian for: “The Beauty of Italy”) tries to unleash the energy to cheer up. Maarten van Aalderen asked a group of fellow foreign journalists what do they like best of Italy. A passionate collective “chant” of opinions, sensations and experience is the outcome, the story of a wonderous country by the many resources. Il Bello dell’Italia is a book that Italians can be proud of. Talenti d’Italia is also a trip through the excellent emergences of Italy, through 21 interviews, 21 stories of passion, 21 lives consecrated to cinema, music, sport. These young talents, mostly in their twenties and thirties, describe their staircase to success and to international acknowledgement.
A careful observer of the Bel paese, 52 yo Dutch journalist Maarten van Aalderen has been living in Italy since 1990, working for the main Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf, which also assigned him to Turkey and Greece. His main distress about Italy is that Italy just cannot promote herself or even nurture her own talents, and this is the reason that led him to write his Il bello dell’Italia on such theme. But with his second work, Talenti d’Italia, he went even farther.
Attendees include journalists Italo Carmignani and Roberto Conticelli, Amici di Spoleto president Dario Pompili, Spoleto mayor Fabrizio Cardarelli, head of Instruction and Formation Maria Elena Bececco, head of Culture Camilla Laureti, Bonifica Umbra director Candia Marcucci, CaRiSpo president Sergio Zinni, and president of the “Francesca, Valentina e Luigi Antonini” Foundation Camillo Corsetti Antonini.
