Max Gazzè: new tour preview
Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti / Saturday 1st April 2017

On April 1st, 2017 the Roman singer will perform in Spoleto to present ALCHEMAYA, a symphonic opera played with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague and produced by Otr Live.

In April 2017 Max Gazzè will be busy with what looks like his most innovative art project: Alchemaya, whose debut is scheduled on April 3rd in the prestigious Teatro dell’Opera in Rome.

Played with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague, the concert will be composed of two parts: the first one is an original opera in which Max and his brother Francesco transform the esoteric studies developed by Max during the last twenty years into new compositions; the second part presents songs from the singer’s historical repertoire rearranged with a “synthonic” twist, a neologism created to indicate the combination of symphonic instruments and synthesizers.

After Spoleto and Rome, the tour will continue on April 4 at Theatre San Carlo in Naples, on the 8th at Florence Opera Theatre, on the 11th at Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan, on the 13th at Gran Teatro in Padova and on the 14th at Auditorium del Lingotto in Turin.

Presale tickets for Spoleto live concert on www.ticketitalia.com and at Ticketitalia stores (in Spoleto: Box 25 – Piazza Vittoria – 0743 222889)

The Entrance Book: THE BAD NEWS, by Luis Gabriel Santiago @ Cinema Sala Pegasus
Apr 11 @ 21:30
<!--:it-->Il Libro d'Ingresso - LA CATTIVA NOVELLA di Luis Gabriel Santiago<!--:--><!--:en-->The Entrance Book: THE BAD NEWS, by Luis Gabriel Santiago<!--:--> @ Cinema Sala Pegasus | Spoleto | Umbria | Italia

“Entrance Book”, the experimental event conceived by Luis Gabriel Santiago and Victor Maticora debuts with La Cattiva Novella (The Bad News) and I Figli della Ragione (Sons of Reason) at the Sala Pegasus in Spoleto.

The first appointment is scheduled for Tuesday 11 April at 21.30, featuring LA CATTIVA NOVELLA – Storie Crudeli (Cruel Stories) by Luis Gabriel Santiago, with Pietro Biondi. Drawings: Adriana Sotero. Video: Giovanni Barchi.

Thursday 20 April at 21:30, it’s the turn of I FIGLI DELLA RAGIONE. Pensieri da Taschino (Pocket Thoughts) by Victor Maticora, with Corinna Lo Castro. Narrators: Cristina Antonini, Graziano Sirci. Music: Marco Marino. Video: Giovanni Barchi.

The Entrance Book aims at promoting the production and diffusion of any short literature expression, from tales to commentaries, from aphorisms to epigrams, also including poems, micro dramas, nursery rhymes of any kind, scientific prose or narrative for children.

Its concrete expression will be an actual book included in the price of the event, that will be given to the attendees; the book is also the source of the texts that will be dramatized along with music and video projections, the representations of written words.

The project aims at combining theatre with books, to trigger a literary and theatre microcircuit that will hopefully expand and cross many borders. Its conceivers (Santiago and Maticora), founders of the European Academy of Fictitious Science Fiction (Italian: Accademia Europea della Fanta Fantascienza) resume their multi-disciplinary activity that led to the issuing of a book series between 2000 and 2010, as well as theatre plays, concerts and radio plays, which attracted characters such as Anna Proclemer, Arnoldo Foà, Michele Serra, Ugo Gregoretti, Daniele Formica, Edoardo Albinati to Spoleto and its theatres.

Social firmness can truly depend on the committment to produce art and culture, in an area exhausted by a devastating seismic fury.

Entrance Book: € 8,00

THE FOUR SEASONS – Spoleto’s Summer 2018 @ Spoleto
Jul 20 – Sep 2 all-day
<!--:it-->LE QUATTRO STAGIONI - Spoleto d'Estate<!--:--><!--:en-->THE FOUR SEASONS - Spoleto's Summer 2018<!--:--> @ Spoleto

Christian De Sica, Giancarlo Giannini, Caparezza, David Riondino, Kataklò dance company and Mauro Bigonzetti, the International Dance Gala Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale’s Eine Kleine Musik, Umbria Ensemble’s concerts of the dawn that pay homage to Leonard Bernstein and the Beatles: these are some of the protagonists and shows that make up the programme of THE FOUR SEASONS – Spoleto’s Summer, the cultural showcase of the Municipality of Spoleto that offers music, dance, theatre and literary events.

The summer programme of events also includes the mid-August events organized by PRO LOCO “A. Busetti”, as well as conferences, guided city walks, social events organized by various associations of the city including the State Archives of Perugia – Spoleto section, Cinema Sala Pegasus, Spoleto Studi d’Arte, Laudesi Umbri choir. Many exhibitions are also on display, such as the ones in Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive, Masterpieces of the 14th century at Rocca Albornoz, Diocesan Museum and Basilica of S. Eufemia, the one dedicated to the Festival of 1959 at the State Archives of Spoleto, Giacomo Ramaccini’s installation, Deposito d’autore at Casa Menotti and Figurazioni Musicali at the Galleria d’Arte e Tessuti.

Giancarlo Giannini opens the programme – Friday, July 20 (21.15) at the Roman Theatre – with the recital LE PAROLE NOTE, a meeting between literature and music that sees on stage, along with the great actor, the Marco Zurzolo Quartet with accordionist Luciano Biondini as special guest. An event by I Love Spoleto.

On Saturday, July 21 (h. 21.15) the dance show MEDITERRANEA will be staged at the Roman Theatre. A choreographic circumnavigation through the music of cultures overlooking the Mediterranean. A show that was born in 1993 for the Balletto di Toscana and that immediately got a resounding success. For its 15th anniversary, in 2008, he was re-produced for the Teatro alla Scala company, marking Mauro Bigonzetti’s first Scala debut. Mediterranea is a production by Daniele Cipriani. An event by I Love Spoleto.

The Kataklò Athletic Dance Theatre will perform in the splendid setting of the Roman Theatre on Friday, July 27 at 21.15 with READY, a show specially designed by Giulia Staccioli, with spectacular choreographies taken from Eureka (2016), Puzzle (2012) and Play (2008), maintaining the dynamic, athletic, poetic and original spirit that has made the Kataklò the most loved and requested Italian company of athletic theater in the world. An event by I Love Spoleto.

Another important dance appointment will take place on Saturday, July 28 at 21.00, still at the Roman Theatre: the Great International Dance Gala tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, by Daniele Cipriani. Eighty years after its birth and twenty-five years after his death, the show is a journey through the most significant stages of the extraordinary artist’s career. The refined multimedia projections by video artist Massimiliano Siccardi will be accompanied, at the beginning, by a rare recording directed by Nureyev. An event by I Love Spoleto.

Double appointment – Friday 10th and Saturday 11th August ( Teatro Caio Melisso, h. 18.00) – with the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale and EINE KLEINE MUSIK 2018: a musical tribute to LA FRANCE with pieces by Erik Satie, Gabriel Fauré and Francis Poulenc. Afterwards, BA-TA-CLAN, the famous opera that marked the first great success of Jacques Offenbach, based on Ludovic Halévy’s libretto. Direction and staging by Giorgio Bongiovanni and Lisa Nava with the Soloists of Spoleto’s Teatro Lirico Sperimentale “A. Belli”.

Saturday August 18, at the Complesso Monumentale di San Nicolò (h. 21.30), David Riondino will be the protagonist of IL DIO DENARO (Non avrai altro Dio all’infuori di me) e altre letture (Italian for THE MONEY GOD – Thou shalt have no other gods before me – and other readings).
It is a special event included in the Libro d’Ingresso series, that marks a further step in the artistic collaboration between David Riondino and musician Fabrizio De Rossi Re.

Two concerts at dawn are organized by Umbria Ensemble chamber group, both of which will be held at the Rocca Albornoziana. The first one will take place on Saturday 11 August at 6.10, a tribute to Leonard Bernstein on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of the great composer’s birth. The second one, Da Vivaldi ai Beatles, on Saturday 25 August at 6.25, will be a musical journey from Vivaldi to Boccherini, passing through some Beatles’ repertoire, reinterpreted by guitarist Leo Brouwer.

On Friday, August 31 at 21.30, Italian singer Caparezza will perform at the Municipal Stadium, with its Prisoner 709 Tour. The Tour promotes the homonymous seventh studio album by the brilliant artist, songwriter and rapper whose most peculiar expressive feature is stylistic contamination and sound eclecticism. An event by I Love Spoleto.

The full programme of The Four Seasons – Spoleto’s Summer includes many other events organized in collaboration with various cultural associations such as the recitals NOTE LETTERE curated by ‘G. Carducci’ and ‘G. Carandente’ libraries in collaboration with Teatro Lirico Sperimentale di Spoleto ‘A. Belli’, and INCONTRI MUSICALI 2018 at Rocca Albornoz and Church of Sant’Agata (curated by Spoleto Studi d’Arte) on August 15, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26, 30, 31 and September 2.

<!--:it-->VISIONI D'AUTORE | Stefano Liberti presenta il suo documentario SOYALISM<!--:--><!--:en-->VISIONI D'AUTORE | Stefano Liberti presents his documentary SOYALISM <!--:--> @ Cinéma Sala Pegasus

Friday, March 29 at 21:00 | Cinéma Sala Pegasus
The director and journalist Stefano Liberti meets the audience of Spoleto for the presentation of the documentary SOYALISM.

The evening is a Visioni d’Autore special event, in collaboration with Coworking Spoleto

THE DOCUMENTARY
In an increasingly overpopulated world, in the grip of climate change, control of food production has become a huge business for a handful of a few giant companies. Following the pork production chain, from China to Brazil via the United States and Mozambique, the documentary describes the enormous movement of power concentration in the hands of these companies, which is taking hundreds of thousands of small producers out of business and permanently transforming entire landscapes. From intensive mega-breeding in China to the Amazon rainforest threatened by soybean crops developed to feed animals confined to sheds on the other side of the world, this process is undermining the social and environmental balances of the planet.
The film had its world premiere on November 18, 2018 at the International documentary film festival in Amsterdam.

STEFANO LIBERTI
Stefano Liberti is an Italian journalist and director. He directed the documentary “L’inferno dei bimbi stregoni” The hell of witch children, winner of L’Anello Debole award in 2010. He wrote “I signori del cibo. Viaggio nell’industria alimentare che sta distruggendo il pianeta” The Lords of food. A journey into the food industry that is destroying the planet (Minimum fax 2016).

Visioni d’Autore is organized by the City of Spoleto, MAIA Cultural Association and Cinéma Sala Pegasus.
