<!--:it-->Il Libro d'Ingresso - LA CATTIVA NOVELLA di Luis Gabriel Santiago<!--:--><!--:en-->The Entrance Book: THE BAD NEWS, by Luis Gabriel Santiago<!--:--> @ Cinema Sala Pegasus | Spoleto | Umbria | Italia

“Entrance Book”, the experimental event conceived by Luis Gabriel Santiago and Victor Maticora debuts with La Cattiva Novella (The Bad News) and I Figli della Ragione (Sons of Reason) at the Sala Pegasus in Spoleto.

The first appointment is scheduled for Tuesday 11 April at 21.30, featuring LA CATTIVA NOVELLA – Storie Crudeli (Cruel Stories) by Luis Gabriel Santiago, with Pietro Biondi. Drawings: Adriana Sotero. Video: Giovanni Barchi.

Thursday 20 April at 21:30, it’s the turn of I FIGLI DELLA RAGIONE. Pensieri da Taschino (Pocket Thoughts) by Victor Maticora, with Corinna Lo Castro. Narrators: Cristina Antonini, Graziano Sirci. Music: Marco Marino. Video: Giovanni Barchi.

The Entrance Book aims at promoting the production and diffusion of any short literature expression, from tales to commentaries, from aphorisms to epigrams, also including poems, micro dramas, nursery rhymes of any kind, scientific prose or narrative for children.

Its concrete expression will be an actual book included in the price of the event, that will be given to the attendees; the book is also the source of the texts that will be dramatized along with music and video projections, the representations of written words.

The project aims at combining theatre with books, to trigger a literary and theatre microcircuit that will hopefully expand and cross many borders. Its conceivers (Santiago and Maticora), founders of the European Academy of Fictitious Science Fiction (Italian: Accademia Europea della Fanta Fantascienza) resume their multi-disciplinary activity that led to the issuing of a book series between 2000 and 2010, as well as theatre plays, concerts and radio plays, which attracted characters such as Anna Proclemer, Arnoldo Foà, Michele Serra, Ugo Gregoretti, Daniele Formica, Edoardo Albinati to Spoleto and its theatres.

Social firmness can truly depend on the committment to produce art and culture, in an area exhausted by a devastating seismic fury.

Entrance Book: € 8,00

EXERCISES OF VILLAGE STORYTELLING IN UMBRIA
With Franco Arminio, poet and village storyteller

The poet and “village storyteller” Franco Arminio will be the special guest of the two days entitled Exercises of Village Storytelling in Umbria, scheduled for Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 September.

Defined as “the most followed Italian poet on the net”, Arminio will animate a series of events, in Spoleto and Sant’ Anatolia di Narco, focused on the relationship between poetry and society (There is a need for poetry, for the sacred that in recent years has been neglected) and on the need to recover spaces and regain possession of silence (Being revolutionary means taking away more than adding, slowing down more than accelerating; it means giving value to silence, light, fragility and sweetness), through activities dedicated to art, walks to discover reopened spaces and laboratories of “village storytelling”.

The event is organized by the Municipalities of Spoleto and Sant’ Anatolia di Narco, together with Cittadinanza Attiva, the Museum of hemp and the Municipal Library “G. Carducci “.

LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 @ Biblioteca Comunale "G. Carducci"

<!--:it-->LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 <!--:--><!--:en-->LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 <!--:--> @ Biblioteca Comunale "G. Carducci" | Spoleto | Umbria | Italia

LECTURAE DANTIS 2017
From 6 October to 21 December at the Public Library, Palazzo Mauri

After the success of the last years, the integral reading of Dante’s Divine Comedy resumes from October 6 to December 21, each Friday afternoon at 17 by the Public library in Palazzo Mauri; this leg includes the reading of 11 cantos from the Paradise, from the XIIth to the XXIInd.

Readings will be by actor Claudio Trionfi, with comments by academics co-ordinated by professor Rodney John Lokaj.

During the event, (October through December) some editions of the Divine Comedy owned by the Public Library will be on display, including the 1484 Venetian incunabulus commented by Cristoforo Landino (1424 – 1498).

Nine cycles of reading have already taken place, that featured the first two canticas, and Hell’s first 11 cantos. The experience shows the modern interest in Dante and his work.

Lectura Dantis is a specific form of divulgation à haute voix, historically well defined and codified, which originated in the XIVth century thanks to Giovanni Boccaccio, and evolved through the ages, yet respecting the traditional interconnection between verse reading and exegetical comment.

LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 @ Biblioteca Comunale "G. Carducci"
Mar 30 @ 17:00
<!--:it-->LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 <!--:--><!--:en-->LECTURAE DANTIS 2017 <!--:--> @ Biblioteca Comunale "G. Carducci" | Spoleto | Umbria | Italia
