Francis’ Pathway

It’s a path that touches meaningful places in the life of Saint Francis: from Assisi, in 12 legs you reach Rome passing through Rieti and its Sacred Valley.

In 1218 Francis obtained the chapel of Saint Catherine from the monks on Monteluco, where now the Franciscan Sanctuary is. The church is a must-see, as well as the convent, that still has the original small cells with the stones used as bed, the caves where some saints stayed and the magnificent view on the Spoleto Valley.

The sanctuary is open all-year-round (9.00-12.00 and 15.00-18.00).
