Who better than the citizens themselves, who live in an area every day, to take note of on-going changes, peculiarities and characteristic features?
With Citizen science projects, citizens contribute to the growth of scientific knowledge, often helping safeguard their own local environments, and becoming fully-fledged researchers!
On the Town of Spoleto Facebook page anybody can upload images or report particular situations that may not appear relevant at first glance, but that, together with observations gathered from other citizen scientists, will help us to better understand and manage biodiversity along the Greenway.
So, what should you be looking out for? Everything! It’s important to report the presence of any animal or vegetable species you might see, but it’s absolutely essential to observe the countryside and keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
So what are you waiting for? Get out your smartphone, photograph everything that piques your curiosity, take a note of the place and the time (it’s even better if you can use geo-location apps that record your position), access the facebook page, and share your findings! We’ll be standing by together all the data you can provide, and to answer any questions you might have.
